I thought I was just getting on with it.
I spent years thinking I was just getting on with things.
Working, managing, holding it all together – doing what needed to be done.
No drama. No fuss. Just life.
And for a long time, that felt like strength.
What I didn’t realise was how much of it was just… coping.
You don’t question it when you’re in it.
You just keep moving.
It’s only when things shift – when life forces a pause, or something breaks the rhythm — that you start to see it properly.
What was choice.
What was habit.
What was expectation.
What was just survival dressed up as capability.
That’s where things started to change for me.
Not overnight. Not dramatically.
Just a quiet awareness that I didn’t want to keep carrying everything in the same way.
That I could choose differently.
That I didn’t have to keep proving I could handle it all.
There’s a version of you that exists beyond just coping.
You just don’t always meet her until something makes you stop.
