Home Essentials

No clutter. No gimmicks. Just things that earn their place.

These are the everyday home products I’ve chosen to keep using because they’re practical, reliable and genuinely useful. I don’t buy things for the sake of it, so if they’re here, they’ve proved their worth.

Magnifying Compact Mirror

A compact mirror with a standard mirror on one side and 10x magnification on the other. Perfect for close-up make-up, tweezing and spotting those surprise chin hairs before anyone else does.

Why it’s here: If you’re over 50, you’ll understand. One minute everything looks fine, the next there’s a chin hair that’s apparently grown overnight. This mirror makes sure I find it before everyone else does.

Portable Ice Machine

A compact countertop ice maker that produces fresh ice in minutes. Ideal if you enjoy cold drinks without constantly filling and emptying ice cube trays.

Why it’s here: I honestly don’t know how I managed without it. I’ve had it for a few months now and use it every day. Whether it’s iced coffee, soft drinks or a glass of wine, there’s always fresh ice ready, and hearing it drop a new batch into the basket still makes me smile.

Tabletop Dishwasher

A compact countertop dishwasher that’s perfect if you don’t have room for a full-sized one. No plumbing is required, making it ideal for one person or a couple.

Why it’s here: I honestly couldn’t go back to washing everything by hand. It’s the perfect size for one person, doesn’t need plumbing and has earned its place in my kitchen. One of the best purchases I’ve made.

Bladeless Tower Fan

A bladeless tower fan that provides powerful cooling without taking up much floor space. Quiet, easy to clean and supplied with a remote control for effortless adjustment.

Why it’s here: It’s one of those purchases you don’t think much about until the weather turns warm. Then it quietly gets on with making life more comfortable, which is exactly what I want from it.

48 Litre Stainless Steel Sensor Bin

HOMCOM 48L Motion Sensor Bin, Automatic Touchless Rubbish Bin with Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel for Kitchen, Hygienic Gyms, Home Office Use, Silver Tone

Why it’s here: I thought it would be a gimmick. Instead, it’s become one of those everyday purchases I’d happily replace if it broke tomorrow.
